Compare the way they were launched, & u'll see the 328i could be a bit faster. The driver in the 335i launched the car using a bit of brake-torque (plus DSC off) whereas the 328i was just a simple brake off then floor throttle (with DSC on).

0-250kmh for the 335i is in about 35 seconds. My N54 did that in 32/33 seconds as I recall.
![]() There is some flat road(highway) around here where we can do that stuff (more than)sometimes. ![]() My ex E90 M3 did that in >25/26 seconds or so, don't remember. The N20 needs 17 seconds more than the N55 to do that, looking at that video. |

Need some F30 owners to race. Set up a good old fashioned drag race
![]() Now I'm pondering the squirrel engine...the difference just doesn't look like much at all. Guess I'll have to go back to the dealer and drive a 328i (I had vowed not to after driving a E90 328i, but this video is enough to make me reconsider my bias.) |

As I said before, the driver of the 328i did not use brake-torque to launch the car, hence it can be quicker. |

friend just calculated this, but since options and standard features are different for 335 and 328, if you were to build the car with same options difference between the two is only $4100. for that money id get 335

I think the French guy is trying to show what can be achieved everyday with a 328i driven by a person with no special skills.

I'd estimate the 328i is ~20% slower to 100km p/h ranging to ~32% @ 200 km p/h. Really not a lot considering both the purchase price & fuel cost benefits. Pretty impressive! How often are folk ever going over 200 km p/h? Tough even on the track. Autobahn's only.
