2013 F31 3 Series Touring Spied Nearly Naked. Debuts at AMI in June

The next 3 series variant to make its debut will be the 3 series touring / wagon (F31). We've now spotted it with virtually no camouflage remaining. Combined with the recently revealed F31 rear design patent CGIs (images below), we now basically know how the F31 will look when it makes its debut at the AMI auto show in Leipzig in early June (for a likely market debut in the Fall).

Unlike the F11 5 series touring, the new 3 series touring model will make a return to the North American market. In an interview we had at the 2012 NAIAS with Paul Ferraiolo, Manager, Product Planning & Strategy of BMWNA, he confirmed that the next generation F31 3 series touring will make it stateside again:

"It's coming, we're not gettting rid of it, we love it", Ferraiolo said when we asked about the next generation 3 series touring. More from Ferraiolo: "The touring buyers - in terms of their passion for their touring model - they love it and feel very strongly about it."

Nice....I can certainly see this as our new family hauler. Make mine a M sport with a manual.

I am both happy and sad at the same time that the Touring has a delayed release over the F30,

1) sad because i would seriously have considered getting the F31 Lux/Sport Pack 335i 6MT if i could pick it up in April!
2) happy because the same release date would have made my choice so much more harder as to which model to choose.... F30 or F31 or F30 or F31 or F30 or F31 etc etc etc.... i probably would be stuck in that infernal loop of indecision....
The delayed release is making it much easier for me to choose, as i have to buy it now... could not wait for a new car any longer...

Don't feel sad because the F31 is only coming in 328(N20) configuration(for now). If you wanted the 335i 6MT, you made the right call.

I love it! Call me crazy, but I think the proportions look even better than the sedan. June can't come soon enough...

Now we need confirmation that these will be available as a non-xi. I'm holding out hope for an M-sport but would settle for a sport line. I was so sure that the 3 wagon was dead in the U.S. that I was seriously considering picking up a very low mileage CPO 2011 just to replace my 2009 and reset the warranty clock out to 2016 or so. Now I can wait until dealers are desperate to move units around the holidays and get a great deal. I'll miss the sound of the inline 6 but 36mpg will be fantastic.

sux that these are always AWD/xDrive - it's like its only made for the cold weather markets.

? The E91 was not xDrive only, and all signs point to the F31 being offered in the US with rwd, and awd as an option.
