So here is the deal. The reviews I am seeing of the 328 all seems to have the style 401 staggered 19" wheel. It looks nice however based on the Pricing sheet it seems it is not even offered on the 328 and is an option on the 335. So how come all the review cars have it. Is it that those cars are for a different market or is BMW pulling a fast one. Btw why did they give up on the staggered setup and low profile on the sports line ( package). I mean 45 profile may be considered low profile but I always think BMW pick on lower profiled tires set them apart. It's one of the things i never liked about the infinity g sedan when I was looking at getting one. The adaptive suspension shoud be able to dial out any harshness. And don't get me started on 225 on the rears on a sports sedan with sport package! Tell me I'm seeing this wrong.

Everything I see, read, and hear about this car makes me more excited. More and more excited for the coupe!
On the exterior looks...if the 1 series is anything to go by . . .I thought the 1 looked horrible in real life. But sitting in the new car and looking at it, really nice! On the road, however, I can see how it can be mistake for a Polo from the rear! Anyhow...my point is simply I already like the look of this car in the videos etc and I bet it will be even more impressive in the steel! |

Yup, that's the only constructive criticism I would have. Great review but driving part disproportionately short.
Congratulations! You'll be the first!

I will wait until I drive it, but I had to go back because I hardly heard the engine when it was fired-up.
Love the car overall, but the N52 will undoubtedly be missed!!! Quote:

I feel this was such an amateur review to be honest. Most of the members here could do a better job. Few points, theinterior looks really good. And how can he say the 335i engine is the best engine on the planet?!

A4 will be an all new car soon, like the 3-series. You can bet the interior will be amazing, like all new Audis. |

This review was nice and it makes me like the car more and more. But I would've like to see more driving from the reviewer.
From the short driving part at the end, I liked how the engine sounded, it pulled strongly and the transmission shifted very very quickly. Looks like this car will be a blast to drive. Man, the revs were climbing quickly! In terms of looks, I didn't like the red strip on the dash and I'm not warming up to it. That is the only thing I don't like. But it can be eliminated by opting for aluminum trim with high-gloss black strip. The interior looks way better than Audi's and quite frankly I don't like many of Audi's interiors - don't see what their hype is about. The exterior looks better and better each time I see videos of the car. The car looks aggressive and sporty. Overall, the car seems way better than the E90. Ha ha, how funny that most current E9x owners "hate" on this F30. These guys come off as the E46 owners did when the E90 first came out. |

Agreed. He sounds like an amateur BMW fanboi who cannot believe he got flown into Spain to drive a new Bimmer. So N54 is the best engine on the planet, and the old 328i gets amazing amazing fuel economy? Yeah right. His review is as smart as the way he says carrrrrrr.

The reviewer sounds like a fanboy - N54 greatest engine on the planet and the E90 had great gas mileage - not! Personally not liking this design - interior and exterior. And not interested in a gimmicky car with "lines" and what not. Eco mode, 4 cyl, start-stop engine, iPad looking nav screen...hmm.

I'm really looking forward to driving the new 328i. No, the N20 will never be as refined as the N52 and its predecessors, but I'm sure it's a very refined 4-cylinder and I'm sure it still has a BMW soul. In addition, the N52 had one glaring flaw, lack of low-end torque. The N20 solves this problem and then some.
As for the 8-speed auto, I'll reserve judgment for a test drive. I've spent a fair amount of time behind the wheel of a new 650i convertible with the 8-speed, and while it was a definite improvement over the ZF 6-speed, I still found it to be kind of lazy. It seemed to want to upshift way too early and consequently elicited a lot of downshifting for even the slightest acceleration. Sure, it downshifts really fast but I found it annoying that it seemed to always be downshifting. Just upshift a little later in each gear and a lot of that downshifting could be avoided. Hopefully the 3-series tuning of this transmission is a little more on the "sport" side. P.S. I find actual sport mode (on both the GM 6-speed auto in the 128i/328i and the ZF 6-speed auto in the 135i/335i) annoying for everyday driving as upshifts happen too late for normal driving and downshifts can be abrupt. Perfect for high-speed runs, but not very practical for normal driving. There really needs to be a middle ground where upshifts are held off for even just 500 RPM and gears are held just a tad longer when you back off the accelerator before an upshift occurs. Stepping off soapbox now ![]() P.P.S. Will the ridiculous naming convention still be present on the F30? That is, will it be called the 328i sDrive or 328i xDrive? Why not just go back to the days of yore when it was just a 328i or a 328ix?? |

Much better review if he just shut up and drove the car for 10 minutes.
I keep moving the fast forward marker but it was like he never stopped talking, and there's no difference in what he's saying at 3:00 vs. 7:00 ... I suspect that's why the N20 sounded so refined when he finally got round to driving it. If he had talked for 20minutes before, we would be praising the N20 as the best f**ing engine ever. |

Looks good, shifts nice from what I have seen but still can't get over the fact it's a 4. I have never driven a 4 I was happy with. Grant it this looks good so far but I would be worried that like most 4 cyclinders I have driven they drive great when they are new but as they age they get worse and become gutless. I guess only time will tell.........................

Again, I'm just struck by how stupid this reviewer guy is. He starts out with this shameless and transparent sales pitch about how car magazines don't really tell you the truth, but his stupid website does. The reason? Because unlike other reviewers, he spent his own money on a BMW. Really? So that's how you get an UNBIASED review, by picking someone who already chose to spend his hard earned money on a product closely related to the one he'll be reviewing? And then of course he proceeds to shamelessly lick BMW's butthole with every stupid sentence he utters. Borderline retarded behavior, really.
I'm not familiar with this website autospies, but it's actually disturbing that BMW would fly idiots like him to Spain for the fancy schmancy unveiling event. I know these things are never about unbiased journalism and always about maximum positive publicity, but this is just too shameless and classless. |

Really good review. It actually made me want the car more. After seeing him show the dash screen better, it doesn't seem all that bad. It actually looks quite nice in the video.
That 4 cylinder had some get-up-and-go! Very nice. I definitely think I'm going to pick one up until the new M comes out. |
